How this site handles your information.

Written to be read, not skimmed past. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Who we are

The First Call is a marketing service for UK funeral directors, run by Andrew Redman. This notice explains what information this site handles, why, and what you can choose.

Questions about anything here, or about your own information, can go to andrew@thefirstcall.co.uk.

What you tell us

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, and message, plus your phone number, firm, number of branches, and the services you ticked if you chose to add them.

That enquiry is stored in our own database and emailed to Andrew so he can reply. It is not sold, and it is not passed to anyone outside the tools listed below.

What the site measures

This site uses the Google tag (Google Ads) for advertising measurement. When it is allowed to run, it sets cookies and records the pages you viewed, the page that referred you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your address.

We use that to see which adverts and pages bring in enquiries, and to keep the campaigns pointed in the right direction. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google, and the measurement is not used to identify you as a person.

Why we use it

The purposes are: replying to your enquiry, measuring how this site and our advertising perform, and optimising advertising so budget goes towards the searches and areas that actually produce calls.

Who handles the data

Google (Google Ads and the Google tag) for the measurement described above. Our hosting and database platform, Lovable Cloud, which stores enquiries. Gmail, which delivers Andrew's enquiry notifications.

Each of those is used only for the part named here.

Your choices

Visitors in the UK and the EEA are asked before any advertising measurement runs, and nothing is measured until they accept. Everywhere else the tag loads without a prompt, because consent is not required there.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of this site. Rejecting means the Google tag never loads for you, and the site itself still works exactly the same. Ad clicks and impressions on Google are counted by Google whether or not you accept, so rejecting only affects what this site can measure.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep things

Enquiries are kept while they remain useful for following up a conversation and for understanding where enquiries come from, then removed. Your cookie choice is remembered in your own browser until you change it or clear your browser storage.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for it to be deleted. Email andrew@thefirstcall.co.uk and Andrew will handle it personally.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can raise it with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

If this changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects your choices, the cookie banner will ask you again rather than assume your previous answer still applies.
